Aims and Objectives

Our aim is to work with Train operating companies, the Derwent Valley Community Rail Partnership and other stakeholders to increase passenger numbers, improve services and enhance facilities on our local railway.

The friends of the Derwent Valley line aims to undertake the following.

* Publicise and promote the Matlock - Derby Railway

* Lobby for better timetables and services

* Seek improvements to station facilities

* Encourage community involvement on the railway

* Take an active role in maintaining stations

* Work with stakeholders to improve the integration of services between different transport modes (rail, bus, walking, cycling)
